Where's the Honor?

I fail to see the honor in these so-called "honor killings." It's bad enough he killed the older daughter, but all the little ones too? This is what makes a third world country. Not the economy or healthcare (or lack of either). It's in how people treat each other, especially women, the elderly and children. Despite ALL the criticism levelled at the U.S. and Christianity, you have to admit we're better than these people.

Based on what? I'm curious as to what makes us any better?

Well, let's see. For starters, we don't kill people for committing adultery. We also don't kill innocent children whose only "crime" is to be related to an adulterer. If we did, the population of the U.S. would be significantly smaller!

That's why most of those countries are still considered "Third World". Their societies, traditions, and cultures are simply primitive -- even when they are rich, like the Saudi's. Our western society and culture is not perfect, but we at least place value and dignity on human life.

This is an extreme case of an honor killing, obviously that guy was deranged. And yes Americans DO kill people and act barbaric, an innocent man in Wisconsin was beat near to death by a mob just this week, because he honked his horn and told the boys to get out of the way. And do you know how many women are battered and murdered by jealous/angry husbands/boyfriends? Violence is a world wide problem.
