How I Spent My Florida Vacation

Check out Heather. She, her significant other, and her mom went from Baltimore to Florida to help restore a hurricane-damaged home. Mind you, this house was from the 2004 hurricane and it still had not been repaired. Good work all around and they even found time to attend an art festival and spring training game.

Hey, I thought the baseball pics were the best part of the whole slide show (Sox fan that I am).

That's awesome when people give their time for a good cause and contribute by Volunteering!

I am forever in awe of selfless people. Some people call that sort of volunteerism "putting their lives on hold." It isn't that, though, is it? These are their lives and they choose to live them with such incredible spirit. Wow.

Hey June - thanks for the mention! We had a great time and I hope to do it again next year. Also, I don't know stringman, but if he's a Sox fan, I already like him. ;)

Stringman: You should come to Florida. There's all sorts of spring training all over the place. Heck, you'd probably never go home!

Crystal: Yes, it was hard work if you look at the pictures. I mean they were ROOFING. It's not like they were just painting a house or something.

Lin: Oftentimes the people one volunteers to help have had THEIR lives put on hold much longer than the volunteers, as in this case.

Heather: Stringman is a funny blog, you should read it if you have time. Also he lives in Mass. and if I recall you used to live there.
