As far as Italy goes, keep your eyes open for cheap tickets and when you go, rent a little villa instead of staying in a hotel. Much more room, much more comfy and very accommodating if you have little ones with you! We rented a two bedroom, two bathroom, living/dining room, fab kitchen villa with a gorgeous pool for $600 for the entire week.

We frequently go to England (husband and mother are English and Mum lives there), Spain and France, and why I'd never been to Italy before escapes me. Start planning your trip! Even with tiny ones, it's fun just being somewhere completely different.
